Our team is deliberately compact. Helen Marsden handles planning and client relationships, Daniel Thorpe owns camera and lighting, Priya Nair leads audio, and Callum Reid builds the workflow behind the scenes. Because each area has one named lead, questions go to the right person quickly and decisions are not lost between departments.
Planning is where most problems are solved. Before anyone arrives on set, the leads agree on cabling routes, power, monitoring and how footage or the live feed leaves the building. We would rather spend an extra hour on a floor plan than lose time fixing a clash during rehearsal.
On the day, calm matters. Our crews work from a call sheet that everyone has read, and the director of photography supervises the floor so that operators can concentrate on their own task. When something changes, the producer decides and the rest of the team is told once, clearly.
Training is part of the job. Priya runs monitoring practice with crews so that everyone listens to the same mix and understands what the gallery hears. Callum keeps technical documentation current, which means the next production can start from the last one's notes instead of from memory.
We work to the brief of each client. Some producers want a full crew and a finished programme; others want a single department to complement their own staff. Either way, we agree who does what in writing before work begins.
